Can I use this over makeup?
Sport Stick is best applied before makeup. If you are looking for a sunscreen product to apply over makeup, we recommend our Total Protection™ Brush-on Shield SPF 50. This powder applies nicely over makeup for easy reapplication throughout the day and provides, not only sun defense; but pollution defense.
Can I use this under makeup?
Yes, Sport Stick blends invisibly with a dry-touch finish so makeup can be worn on top if preferred.
Does this replace Face Shield?
No. You can choose to use Sunforgettable® Total Protection™ Face Shield or Sport Stick as both provide sun and pollution protection, and have SPF 50. However, the Sport Stick may be more convenient to apply and reapply during outdoor activities or sports as Sport Stick SPF 50 is water/sweat resistant up to 80 minutes, while Face Shield is water/sweat resistant up to 40 minutes.
How do I apply to ensure I am fully protected?
Glide Sunforgettable® Total Protection™ Sport Stick SPF 50 directly onto skin. To ensure complete and even coverage, generously glide the stick across the forehead, cheeks, bridge of nose, and chin. Then, using fingertips, blend outward for sheer coverage without the white cast.
Can I apply this on my lips?
Yes, Sport Stick can be applied onto lips. In addition, for protection with added color, Sunforgettable® Total Protection™ Color Balms are available in 3 shades- blush, berry, and bronze for use on lips and cheeks. Color Balms and Sport stick are formulated with jojoba esters and plant-based squalane to provide comforting hydration and healthier-looking skin.
Is it water or sweat resistant?
Yes, Sunforgettable® Total Protection™ Sport Stick SPF 50 is water/sweat-resistant for up to 80 minutes.
Can I leave this in my car?
Sport Stick SPF 50 should not be stored in a vehicle as the temperature inside a car can become excessively high. Avoid frequent or long-term direct exposure to sun and heat. Store at room temperature. When outdoors, such as the beach or pool, try to avoid leaving out in direct sunlight by keeping in a bag or in the shade.

What does the PA rating mean?
The PA rating system measures the level of protection from UVA rays, which are known to cause pigment darkening in the skin. It measures the amount of time a product would protect your skin from darkening.
The following shows how much protection each PA score provides compared to unprotected skin. If your unprotected skin normally darkens/pigments after 5 min of UVA exposure:

What is EnviroScreen® Technology?
EnviroScreen® Technology is proprietary to Colorescience®. EnviroScreen® Technology uses patented active ingredients, Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, that create a barrier preventing free radical formation and oxidative stress. These patented actives are combined with specialty ingredients that, together, work synergistically to protect skin from damage caused by exposure to UVA/UVB rays, pollution, blue light (also known as High Energy Visible, or HEV, light), and infrared radiation.
Can you explain how adherence/water- and sweat- resistance is tested?
Colorescience® follows the FDA guidelines for testing water resistance or adherence to the skin after exposure to water. A panel of 10 people apply the product to their skin prior to being immersed in a whirlpool (of moving or circulating water) for 20-minute cycles. After 20 minutes in the whirlpool, panelists exit the whirlpool before immersing themselves again. For 40 minutes water resistance, panelists are immersed in the water for two 20-minute cycles. For 80 minutes water resistance, this is done a total of 4 times. After all cycles are completed, the SPF that is remaining on the skin is measured. If after 80 minutes in the whirlpool, the SPF remaining is at least 50, the result is an SPF 50 with 80 minutes of water resistance.
How do you measure pollution protection?
We measure our pollution protection by directly measuring free radicals created from UV + pollution events on unprotected skin and skin protected with Sunforgettable® Total Protection™ Brush-on Shield SPF 50 and Sunforgettable® Total Protection™ Face Shield SPF 50. We use a testing technique called electron spin resonance (ESR) that uses a combination of a magnetic field and electron magnetic waves to directly detect the unpaired electrons of free radicals.
How do you measure blue (HEV) light protection?
Blue (HEV) light protection is tested by measuring the ability of the formula to block light in the HEV spectrum that would otherwise reach the skin. In practice, this is done by applying the formula to a transparent substrate at the same dose level (2mg/cm2) used in the FDA Monograph SPF test. The substrate is then placed at the entrance of an integrating sphere detector which captures all the light passing through the sample. This configuration is the same as that used in the FDA Monograph Critical Wavelength measurement and mimics the situation of a formula applied to the skin. The percentage of HEV light blocked is calculated by comparing the intensity of the light transmitted through the formula to the incident light at each wavelength throughout the HEV spectrum (400–490 nm).
Can I use Sunforgettable® Total Protection™ products on children and babies?
All Total Protection® products use only all-mineral zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide which are the only sunscreen active ingredients recognized as [safe and effective by the FDA](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/understanding-over-counter-medicines/questions-and-answers-fda-posts-deemed-final-order-and-proposed-order-over-counter-sunscreen#:~:text=FDA's%20review%20of%20publicly%20available,to%2025%25).
Per [FDA recommendation](https://www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/should-you-put-sunscreen-infants-not-usually) as well, our Total Protection® products are safe to apply to children 6 months and older. For use on children under 6 months of age, please consult your physician.

Please note, however, that all Total Protection® Face Shield SPF 50 formulas contain 2% niacinamide. While niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3, is known to help soothe skin, aid the skin barrier, and balance sebum production, it can lead to irritation for those with an allergy. For this reason, we recommend a patch test on a small area of skin before applying directly to the face.

Yes, Colorescience uses only mineral (also known as physical) sunscreen active ingredients, zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide in all of our sunscreen products. These are the only 2 sunscreen actives the FDA recognizes as safe and effective. Colorescience has never and will never use any chemical sunscreen actives.

Love this product
I am so obsessed with this brand that I am afraid to leave a positive review because I rely on their products being available. The more attention the quicker the products are sold out! That said, this is a great product and is so easy to use and carry around for added protection during and after working out, at the beach, or whenever there is a need to quickly apply sunscreen before stepping outside at any given time.
